About Sunday Offline
A guide for people who want a healthier relationship with technology.
Our mission
Sunday Offline exists because smartphones are genuinely good at one thing above all others: keeping you on them. The attention economy is real, and most of us are losing the battle against it — not because we lack willpower, but because the software is designed to win.
We are not anti-technology. We are pro-presence, pro-intentionality, and pro-human connection. The goal is not to become a Luddite. The goal is to use technology as a tool again — one that you pick up when you need it and put down when you don't.
Sunday Offline tests, compares, and recommends simpler phones and offline habits. We cover dumb phones, minimalist phones, feature phones, and refurbished retro devices — honestly, with the same editorial independence we would expect if we were reading someone else's guide.
Editorial standards
We test what we recommend where possible. When we cannot test directly, we are transparent about it — our placeholder data is clearly marked, and we encourage readers to verify specs before purchasing.
We do not accept payment from manufacturers to be featured or reviewed positively. Affiliate commissions are disclosed on every page where they appear. Our rankings and recommendations are based on editorial judgment, not who pays us.
We try to be honest about limitations, workarounds, and real-world experience. A dumb phone is not perfect for everyone — and we say so, by use case.
